Welcome to

Frida and Friends

Frida and Friends is a growing platform dedicated to rescuing and caring for street dogs in Yucatan, Mexico.

Every day, countless dogs are left to fend for themselves on the streets: hungry, sick, frightened, and all too often without the chance to live a healthy life. Many suffer from parasites, diseases, and neglect, leading to painful and preventable deaths. Most mother dogs are abandoned and left to raise their puppies entirely on their own. With a stray population that grows larger by the day, puppies fall ill, spread infections, or perish along roadsides. We need this to change, and we need it now.

At our private sanctuary, we provide a safe and loving environment where these animals can heal and thrive. We are currently caring for over 30 dogs, including 16 abandoned puppies who are now looking for their forever homes. We would love to help even more pups, but when illnesses spread, having enough space to isolate and treat each one properly is essential.

Even though we are at full capacity and cannot always take in more animals, turning our backs on those in desperate need is heartbreakingly difficult. The reality is that there will always be more dogs needing help. We want to do more than just care for our own pack; we want to reach a wider audience and support the many independent rescuers doing this work completely on their own.

Meet the ones who started it all

Every wave begins with a single drop of water. Over the years I have met countless pups, yet there is nothing quite like the love for the very first one.

Through real-life rescue stories, we inspire children to unplug from screens, reconnect with their surroundings, and discover the life-changing power of giving an animal a second chance. Each story is a lesson in friendship and resilience—a seed planted to raise a more mindful generation, one rescue at a time.

Our Mission

To rescue street dogs in extreme conditions, nurse them back to health, vaccinate and sterilize them, and place them in loving homes through adoption. Additionally, we aim to expand our impact by hosting spay/neuter and wellness clinics in Seyé and underserved communities.

Our Vision
To evolve from a sanctuary into a social movement that reshapes the culture surrounding animal welfare in Yucatan and beyond. We aim to collaborate with fellow rescuers and educate the next generation in schools to foster compassion, empathy, and a deeper connection with nature.
